- The Winning Director
- Director Chad Lowe has long been an established Hollywood actor, having appeared in dozens of TV roles and feature films. At the age of 15, Lowe was encouraged (by family friend Martin Sheen) to "pursue acting not only as a profession but as a way of life." As his film "Beautiful Ohio," demonstrates, he brings the same intensity and focus to his efforts on the other side of the camera as well.
- The Winning Film
- "Beautiful Ohio" is the story of two brothers and their journey on the difficult road to adulthood. Clive (David Call) is a competitive math whiz in 1970's suburban Ohio; A handsome introvert who has invented his own language to keep his younger brother William (Brett Davern) from learning too many personal secrets. Clive is seeing Sandra (Michelle Trachtenberg), a vivacious young woman who has secrets of her own. Simon (William Hurt) and Judith (Rita Wilson) are doing the best they can as parents of the two boys, but they have issues of their own with which to wrestle.
